Dress Project (Istanbul Fashion Academy x London College of Fashion/First Year, Third Semester Project)
Within the scope of the "Heroic Toys" theme, I chose Collodi’s Pinocchio as my toy hero. I reimagined him as a modern influencer figure—an online persona whose follower count increases with every lie, just like his growing nose. This concept centers around a fictional digital parasite that feeds off virtual attention and deception.
To bring this idea to life, I utilized polyester printing technology, which allowed me to visualize the narrative directly on fabric. This project not only supported my conceptual development but also contributed to my practical experience in textile printing technologies, enriching my theoretical knowledge with hands-on application.

In this section, you can see the digital version of the sketchbook for my dress project, "Synthetic Emotions: CTRL+LIE."
In this dress project I intend to tell a altered story of Collodi's Pinocchio. I titled this project as CTRL+LIE. This title refers the influencer persona of futuristic Pinocchio.
I utilized digital polyester printing to express the realism of the virtual Pinocchio. The garment is composed of 0 and 1 binary codes and features Pinocchio’s facial expression within the digital realm. On the upper body, a glitched version of Pinocchio’s face appears, accompanied by red error codes from the software, symbolizing system failures. On the lower part of the dress, binary codes represent the virtual universe of Pinocchio and the manipulative algorithms he uses to control social media. On the back of the skirt, an infographic presents the detailed concept of the project.
